We collect as little as a saleroom can function on. This page says exactly what that is, why we hold it, and who else touches it.
What we collect
Your email address. It is how you register, how you sign in, and how we reach you about a lot you have bid on or won. It is the only identifying detail we ask for.
Your bidding. Every bid you place, including any confidential maximum, with its time and amount. This is the record of the sale and we cannot run an auction without it.
Your invoices. The lot, hammer price, premium, total, and whether it has been paid.
Waitlist sign-ups. If you asked to be told when the first sale opens, we store that address along with the page that referred you and your browser’s user agent string, so we can tell genuine sign-ups from automated ones.
What we never collect
We do not take card details — those go directly to our payment processor and never reach our systems. We have no passwords to lose, because sign-in is by emailed link. We do not run advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not sell or rent your address to anyone.
What other bidders can see
In the saleroom you are a paddle number. The public bidding record shows that number, the amount, and the time — never your name, your email address, or the maximum you left. Your ceiling is visible to no other bidder and to no seller.
Cookies
We set one kind of cookie: the session cookie that keeps you signed in after you follow a sign-in link. It is necessary for the site to work and it is not used to track you across other sites. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, which is why you are not being asked to consent to any.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of providers, each for one job: Supabase hosts the database and handles sign-in; Resend delivers our email; Whop processes card payments and holds the card details we never see; Railway and Cloudflare host and serve the site. Each receives only what it needs to do that job.
How long we keep it
Bidding and invoice records are kept as long as we are required to keep records of sale. A waitlist address is kept until the sale it relates to has opened, or until you ask us to remove it — whichever comes first.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to delete your account and waitlist entry. We will act on any of these. Where a lot has already been sold, the record of that sale has to stand — but it need not stay attached to a live account.
Waitlist mail is a single note when the first sale opens. It is not a newsletter, and asking to come off the list takes one email.
